If all of the information about every topic is available online, why do we need schools? Is it to get one on one input from a teacher?
If the number of students in a classroom is high then there won’t be much one on one interaction with a teacher.
It’s worse in universities. Students sit in lecture theaters with hundreds of other students and there’s no one on one interaction with the professor.
Do we need schools in order to get access to a curriculum?
Any good teacher can create a curriculum that is as good or better than the curriculum provided by a school.
Do we need schools for testing?
Every industry has many tests and they can be taken in testing facilities that cost a lot less than a school.
Maybe schools should be used to teach important life skills like financial management, how to work in a team environment, how to interact with people that are different than you, how to deal with stress or the really big one – how to think.
That sounds fantastic but…you can also learn all of this online and you can learn from the best in the world.
